Societas Uralo-Altaica (SUA), e.V.
Founded in 1952, the Societas Uralo-Altaica e.V. is an international association of scholars working in the fields of Uralic Studies (Finno-Ugric Studies, Samoyed Studies) and Altaic Studies (Turkic Studies, Mongolian Studies, Tungusology and Korean Studies). The aim of the SUA is to promote science and research in the field of Uralic and Altaic studies.
The society is primarily focused on scientific publication and the supervision of scientific publications, but also on networking and the exchange of knowledge in its fields of research. Currently, the journal Ural-Altaische Jahrbücher is published every two years, as well as the monograph series Veröffentlichungen der Societas Uralo-Altaica and - for smaller publications - the series Mitteilungen der Societas Uralo-Altaica.

The president of the Society since October 2024 is PD Dr. Johannes Reckel (Göttingen).
